About Us

Our History

Kwik Print, Inc., renowned in the printing industry for its exceptional customer service, has been family owned and operated since its inception in 1973. Cheryl and John Raifstanger, Jr. launched the company in the basement of the Mahaiwe Theatre in Great Barrington, MA. The equipment consisted solely of a second-hand press and an IBM typewriter. The self-taught young entrepreneurial couple set type by night and ran the press by day, all while raising three children; Jodi, John III and Jay.

In 1975, John and Cheryl bought the building at 35 Bridge Street (co-owning it with the Shopper's Guide) in Great Barrington. The extra space in the new location enabled Kwik Print to house a web press to print the Shopper's Guide and other area newspapers.

In 2000, Kwik Print embraced the next generation of family printers when sons John III and Jay joined the business. Both sons run the web press and standard printing presses, as well as various additional duties that a small business requires. John III and Jay carry on Kwik Print's traditions and high standards of top-notch printing and personalized customer service.

In 2005, Kwik Print will expand again, taking over the entire building at 35 Bridge Street. This will allow the company to introduce new products and services with the increased space.

Kwik Print and the Raifstanger Family are strong supporters of local businesses, schools, and community activities.

Cheryl maintains numerous volunteer positions in the community, including the Great Barrington Rotary, (she is a former president), the Southern Berkshire Chamber of Commerce, and the Fairview Hospital Auxillary and Gala Committee, to name just a few. John is a member and sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, which conserves, restores, and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl.
